The service was good and the coffee was really nice, but breakfast was a letdown after the nice dinners we've had here before. It wasn't busy at all. The hash brown was okay, but the eggs were runny and undercooked. The menu said four chipolatas, and I got two smaller than normal sausages. Two of us found gristle in them. The bacon had black burnt bits on it, and though undercooked, was blackened from dirty oil. Mushrooms tasted old and watery, like they'd been microwaved from the day before.

My partner and I tried it for the first time and felt welcome right away. The food was fantastic, and the cocktails hit the spot. Such a gem in the village. What a wonderful experience!

The meal was absolutely superb, and the first service was lovely. After we'd eaten, though, we felt forgotten, so my friend had to go ask about pudding, coffees and the bill. Otherwise, I can't complain. I'd come back.

I only popped in for coffee and cake, and it was my first visit. The welcome was lovely and warm, and both the cake and coffee were excellent. We'll come back to try breakfast sometime.

The location worked exceptionally well for where my partner and I were going, and Lincolnshire is a beautiful part of the country. Free, fast Wi-Fi was a plus too. But after reading all the good reviews here and on Booking.com, we were massively disappointed. We paid for B&B without breakfast and stayed in the annex, a lovely building beside the car park and away from the main house. The bed and pillows were comfortable, but the room was horribly stuffy. The windows barely let in air, the fan was useless, and the thick 500 TOG duvet was far too heavy and hot. It isn't even the height of summer now. A loud, rude group messed around in the forecourt right outside the window. I recorded it and will send it in. Then around midnight we were woken by what we thought were drunks, but it was staff, Mr Roberts and his colleagues. They were screaming, swearing and banging things around outside. It was shocking and disgraceful at that time of night. In the morning there was no sign saying where breakfast was. After our brief walk through the main building the night before, which had made us feel claustrophobic, we decided to skip it. One night was more than enough. For a small double bed in a sweaty, stuffy room with noise from the staff, the price was too much. I'd have taken £25-30 off what we paid. I'd rather sleep in my car than stay here again.
