The Missing Sock

The pub grub was really good, and the staff were so accommodating with our group of friends and their children, all under three. It was a shame to see so few other diners, but I’ll spread the word about our experience. Highly recommend it for anyone with young children.

There was plenty of room for everyone, and the relaxed feel of the venue made our friends’ wedding day and evening so enjoyable. The staff and event organiser made us all feel welcome and kept everything on plan. A fantastic place for such a special occasion. I’d recommend it to anyone after a venue with a difference.

I’m editing my review after management asked about the low score. The roast I had on Sunday was tough to eat, and the gravy was bland. The plate was swimming in grease, so it really wasn’t a pleasant meal. The rest of my group felt much the same. The large, open bar could work well for events, but the decor feels scattered, with different styles and random designs all over. It needs a more cohesive look.

The homemade brownies are to die for, and the landlord is welcoming, helpful, courteous and obliging. It has a warm, friendly atmosphere and plenty of space in the grounds for events. They also put on music nights for students and anyone else who wants to go. Children are welcome too, provided they're supervised and behave.
