Chine Hotel

Emma, Roberta and the rest of the staff provided excellent service throughout. The hotel has a nature loving feel that’s relaxing, and the rooms have sea views. There’s a soft play area for kids and a swimming pool. The rooms could do with improvement, though that didn’t matter much to me. I’ll definitely come again.

We stayed one night and I was surprised by how good it was. From our balcony, we had a brilliant sea view. The Italian restaurant served one of the best meals I’ve had in ages. Breakfast was spot on, with loads to choose from, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I’d stay longer next time. If I’m being picky, I’d have liked a more powerful shower.

The rooms are spacious, and ours had a separate room for our child. The gardens down to Boscombe beach are lovely, but the paths are steep and bumpy, so they’re unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues. Breakfast was lovely, and all the staff were polite and helpful. It’s in a great location and good value compared with nearby hotels. The decor is tired and well past its prime, and there was a peculiar mothball smell in the corridor linking the buildings. Still, it’s a very good hotel for families.

We had a relaxed, enjoyable three nights and it’s an easy walk downhill to the beach. Our sea view room was spacious and comfortable, with new decor that smelled strongly of paint, though that didn’t bother us. Breakfast was very good and had plenty of choice. We used the pool, but the sauna and hot tubs we’d been looking forward to were all out of order. We also had dinner one evening, and found the food and service uninspiring, though fair to say it was average. Overall, a pleasant stay.
