Royal Bath Hotel

The staff were 10/10, friendly and accommodating, and we loved the traditional feel of the hotel. The lounge and dining areas were exceptional, while the pool and spa were good. Food was only 5/10, with no fresh fruit and not served hot. We didn’t like paying £5 to swim, even though we could have stayed all day, and £25 a day for parking felt extortionate. We came early in the season, and a few things weren’t up to scratch: the patio and front steps needed sweeping, garden bins needed emptying, there were cobwebs on the lights, dirty windows and bits left on the sills all week, and a grubby wardrobe. There weren’t many sockets and none by the bed. Still, we had a good stay overall and will be back. Shops, restaurants and the beach are easy to reach.

Our room had a lovely sea view and felt large and airy. RHYS in the Lounge Bar went above and beyond, arranging our evening meal on the first night when we were the only guests dining. The dining room manager also gave us a warm welcome, and breakfast was lovely. It was a wonderful two-day break, thanks to the staff. I’d highly recommend staying here.

The seating by the bar is cozy, and it’s a nice hotel for the price. We paid £98 for two nights in a double room and can’t complain. There’s no parking at the hotel, but public parking next door costs £20 for 24 hours in winter and rises to £25 for 24 hours in summer.

The room was huge, and we had a wonderful weekend. We’d read bad reviews and arrived without expectations, but the hotel is beautiful, old-fashioned and regal. The spa and its building were inviting and well kept, the staff couldn’t have done more for us, and our package weekend with food and entertainment was great value. The location is brilliant, and we’d absolutely stay again. They don’t clean rooms daily, and the cleaning products smell unpleasantly sweet. Other than that, we thought it was good value and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. Thank you.
