We came for a friend’s special celebration and had such a relaxing weekend. Christina has made the cottage feel so welcoming, and it’s right in the centre of Bourton on the Water, with everything close by. We even managed to park just outside. Everything was spotless and beautifully arranged, and the cotton bedding was incredibly soft. On arrival we found a homemade sourdough loaf and blackcurrant jam, plus eggs, tea, coffee, sugar, hot chocolate, condiments, towels and logs for the fire. We couldn’t fault it, and would gladly recommend staying here when visiting the area.

The beds were so soft and comfortable that we slept wonderfully, and the cottage garden was a lovely place to sit on mild evenings with good food, wine and company. The store cupboard was a treat too, especially Mrs Billings jam with her freshly baked batch loaf. I only wish the jam had been available to buy. Bourton Croft Cottage made our stay one to remember. It’s right in the town centre, though evening walks by the River Windrush felt peaceful once the daytime crowds had gone from Little Venice Green. We even enjoyed late night walks and cava nights. During the Covid pandemic, after lockdown, the cottage was spotless and had appropriate measures in place. The lovely weather and atmosphere added to the visit, and we’ll definitely return to our favourite Cotswold retreat.

We stayed for five days, which was plenty of time to see the town. It was lively, with lots of people about, and I hadn’t expected to find a cinema and a bird zoo there. On the way home I found the residential areas, with shopping spots and popular mainstream stores. I’d visit again, this time to explore the outskirts.

Spotlessly clean and spacious, this lovely cottage is in a charming little town. Highly recommend.
