The Penthouse Suite was a lovely place to spend two nights celebrating our lifelong commitment. The bed was huge and really comfortable, and the building's character worked beautifully with the modern appliances and decor. We held our wedding reception here, and it became the best night of our lives. Muqaddas, the Events Planner, met with us several times beforehand. She was attentive and reassuring, and asked whenever she wasn't sure rather than assuming. The reception team were also ready to help with anything we asked. They made us feel like the most important people there, and for a fairly new team, their service was five star. I hope you enjoyed the cakes we left behind! We also had light bites and drinks at The Avenue Bar. The waitress was a real credit to the team, her lovely banter added so much to the evening. I can't fault the place. Our wedding weekend will stay with us for life, and words don't cover how happy we are. I'd recommend this venue without hesitation. All our love, James & Alex xxx

Anthony, the Manager, made us comfortable throughout, and Leonie served us like royalty. All the staff were excellent, friendly and helpful, and we had everything we needed. We spent six nights here while taking care of some business in Bradford. The location was ideal, minutes from Bradford Interchange and plenty of shops. Our twin room suited us, the hotel was very quiet, and we had breakfast in our room. There was a bar and snacks available from 3pm. Good value for the price, and well worth a visit.

The building has a great location and must once have been a grand place, but now it looks tired and needs some care and DIY. We didn't stay overnight, so I can't comment on the rooms or hotel side of things. I wouldn't go back if they paid me. We'd pre-booked lunch a few weeks ago, and it was a pretty terrible experience. Every dish in our mix was dreadful: overcooked, dry, and without flavour. One was fish, and I still can't understand how something that lives in water could be so utterly dry. I wouldn't eat here even for free. Service was just as frustrating. The hotel seems to have very few staff, and it was hard to find anyone when we needed help. The team seemed new, which isn't a problem by itself, but it felt like nobody knew what to do. They were pleasant enough, yet questions got a vacant stare and then a 20-minute wait. At one point someone in our party went looking and couldn't find anyone at all.

The location is great, right in Bradford city centre and just a few minutes' walk from everything. My stay yesterday was quiet and calm, and breakfast was acceptable. The building itself is beautiful and full of character, but the hotel seems to have slipped in quality. The lift has been out of service for some time, and my room's heating wasn't working properly, with a noticeable cold draft from the window. With some improvements, it could live up to its potential again.

I've stayed here several times and never had a problem. The staff, including the receptionist, are really friendly, and I enjoy my visits even though the place is a bit run down. The hotel is very central, with plenty of things to do and places to eat nearby. The rooms are dated, though, and the whole building could use a refurbishment. The website photos should be updated because most rooms don't look like them. The windows especially need replacing. One thing to know: the elevator has been out of action for over a year. If you have a medical condition, I'd recommend asking for a first-floor room. The stairs are steep, and it's a long climb to the top depending on your floor.
