The function room worked really well for my Niece's christening, and it's definitely worth a visit. The Bar Tender, whose name I later learned is John/Jon, was efficient and incredibly helpful. Nothing we asked was too much. He certainly made my heart skip a few beats, I'll tell you.

We'd happily stay here again if we're in the area, and would recommend it to people who don't mind a few rough edges. The price was fair, the atmosphere was good, parking was free and the general vibe was positive. The staff were welcoming and friendly, including the four-legged security officer. There were a couple of small gripes. I found what looked like a human hair in my breakfast egg, and the mug for my much-needed morning coffee was very dusty. The walls between rooms are thin, so we heard every word from the party animals next door until they finally went to bed around 3:30 am. Still, those things were easy enough to forgive.

I went to a wake at the pub today. The buffet was one of the nicest I've been lucky enough to enjoy, and the bar service was really good. Everything was great.

A friendly pub with darts and a pool table, plus a good range of spirits, cider, beer and lager. There's some parking available, and a few more spaces opposite if it's full.
