The Oak Tree Inn

The Scottish housekeepers breakfast was to die for, with produce that seemed really fresh. Our room was spotless and met all my standards, even though I’m very picky about where my husband and I stay. I was surprised by some of the other reviews because we had such an amazing visit, and we’ll definitely be back. On arrival, we got a big, warm welcome from someone I assumed was the manager or duty manager, though I’m not sure. The village taxi service was handy too, and Mike was very accommodating.

The room was clean, airy, and excellent, with comfortable beds. Breakfast was freshly made after we ordered from the set selections. For dinner there’s a set menu as well as specials, with plenty of good choices overall. It’s a friendly, welcoming little country pub hotel, and there’s a good selection of beer too.

We stayed here on Valentine’s Day, and even with what was clearly a very busy evening for the staff, the meal was wonderful and the service fabulous. The room was the cleanest I’ve ever seen, sparkling everywhere. The whole experience was fabulous from beginning to end. It has a lovely, homely, welcoming feel. Five stars all day long x

Simon behind the bar was so welcoming and made us feel as if we’d been locals for years. Since moving from a village without a pub, I’m really grateful to have this one nearby. We’ve recently moved to the village and were excited to try the pub, and it didn’t disappoint. It has a great atmosphere inside, the prices are very reasonable and suit every budget, and nothing was too much trouble.
