Nythfa House

The annexe room was the cheapest option, but it was a nice surprise: roomy, comfortable and quiet. Staff service was very good, and both breakfast and the packed lunches were great. Dinner seemed mostly geared towards the hotel's older guests. The shared spaces could use some brightening and modernising, as they feel a bit dull and dated. For an HF holiday, Brecon is a good choice.

The walks were a real highlight, with plenty to choose from and changes made on the day when the weather called for it. We had a wonderful four-day break at Nyftha House. The whole team made us feel welcome and included from the start, whether we came as part of a group or on our own. Everyone was there for the same thing, a great walking break, and the food was amazing.

The team leaders were on hand to answer questions even though I was staying on a self-guided break. I had a three-night walking holiday, with the usual HF standard of accommodation and lovely service from the staff. If you haven't tried an HF holiday before, give it a go.

There are different kinds of holidays to choose from, and the other guests were friendly. Staff were attentive too. I had a very comfortable room, enjoyed the lovely food, and liked the pool and pretty gardens. It's a lovely place to stay in the middle of the Brecon Beacons.
