I only stopped in at the pub, but the drinks were really reasonably priced compared to what we’re used to. A double vodka and lemonade was £3.80, and Guinness was fairly priced too. They also had a good Darts board you can use for free.

We just popped in for a quick drink after walking around town. The barman was friendly, the music was good and dogs are welcome. There’s a nice outdoor area too. We were only passing through and it wasn’t busy, so I’ll update this after another visit. Drinks were cheap, and we also ordered a takeaway pizza. It was the freshest we’ve had in a while, definitely recommend it.

During a day visit to Brecon for The Brecon Jazz festival, my sister, daughter and I stopped at the pub, had a drink each and sat outside near where bands were due to play. There were no seats under the Marquee, so we asked a member of staff if we could use seats off to the side. They said yes. As we were finishing our drinks and getting ready to leave, a girl who looked about eight or nine asked if she could get past. She’d been milling around but wasn’t causing trouble. The music was so loud we couldn’t make out what she said, so I leaned closer to hear. We said of course and moved our bags out of her way. Then a security guy or steward came over and shouted abuse at us, accusing us of deliberately ignoring her. He was red in the face and intimidating, bullying three women who had done nothing wrong. I tried to explain that we couldn’t hear over the music, and that my sister wears a hearing aid, but he kept going and threatened to throw us out. We left. As paying customers, we didn’t deserve that treatment. He seemed to be looking for an argument and shouldn’t be in that job. We reported it to the bar staff on the way out, though I should have asked for his SIA number and reported him further. I won’t go back, and I’ll encourage others to avoid the pub.

We’ve called in a few times and will do so again. On this visit, we watched the autumn international in the lounge, which is separate from the bar area. The large projector type screen was not too bad once they dimmed the lights. At half time, staff brought out a lovely cold buffet that everyone enjoyed. All the staff gave us a good welcome.
