Cae Court Hotel

We had a comfortable, pleasant stay at Cae Court Hotel. The room was quiet, clean and well maintained, and the location gave us easy access to nearby amenities. The restaurant was good too, with reasonable prices and lots of locals coming in to eat.

The breakfast was fresh from the menu rather than buffet style, with mostly British and Spanish-inspired dishes. We usually ate there, and it was included in our stay. The food was an explosion of flavour, and a shout-out to Kuya Dante for making our breakfasts. The restaurant was busy throughout our stay, with lots of locals coming in at night. There’s also a bar with a lounge. I counted about 40 seats in the restaurant. Parking was limited to three spaces in the bay and one by the garden, though staff were keen to help. My husband and I stayed three nights in Room 2, booking for its convenient location near the facility where I was training. After the long drive from Newcastle, we arrived around 8pm on the first night. The staff were friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. It’s near the centre, and I think the train station too, with a church right across the road and shops a few minutes’ walk away. It gives you a feel for the area without being overwhelmed by its busyness. The hotel is quaint, with modern finishings. I think there were eight rooms in total, two upstairs and the rest downstairs, accessible by a shared staircase or lift. Our room was a good size, the bed was huge and extremely comfortable, and the pillows were divine. I had the best sleep, like sleeping on a cloud. The bathroom had his and hers sinks and a huge waterfall shower, the best experience we’ve had despite the stormy weather. There was air conditioning, but I didn’t find it strong enough. Opening the windows helped cool the room because of the cold, stormy weather. That’s the only improvement I can suggest. Nothing major, our stay was superb!

This was my second stay, and Fiona gave us such a warm welcome both at check-in and check-out. The rooms are modern, super clean and lovely, with nice toiletries, tea, coffee and water. Breakfast is cooked to order. I highly recommend it!

The service was the standout for us, with delightful management and staff. We spent two nights at Cae Court Hotel and had a great experience. It’s a little gem, with rooms, a dining room and cocktail bar that are all impressive and finished to a high standard. I’d happily call it compact luxury.
