Orchard Leigh

The location was ideal and the house itself is stunning, but the state of it was awful. It clearly hadn't been properly cleaned for a long time: black mould in both showers, dirt around the edges of every room, smudged windows, questionable stains on the cushions and cobwebs throughout. We had to wash all the kitchenware before using it, the dishwasher had been left full and dirty, and the fridge needed cleaning too. There was also a bag of dirty bedding in the wardrobe, and several maintenance problems reported by earlier guests still hadn't been dealt with. The worst issue was the hot tub. It hadn't been cleaned in what looked like a long time, with scum all around the waterline. After about 15 minutes in it, we realised it was full of semen. The management company sent the Manager and Area Manager, who were as disgusted as we were, but nobody offered to clean the house. The tub was cleaned after five days, but still had semen in it and remained unusable. Sykes still hasn't resolved our complaint.
