The portions were so big we couldn’t finish everything, but the roast beef was incredibly tasty. I took my wife for Sunday lunch on her birthday, which was also Mothering Sunday, and the food was incredible. Then the staff surprised her with a cake and birthday wishes. The cake was an even bigger surprise, probably the nicest brownie cake I’ve ever had. Thanks to the chef and staff for a wonderful experience. ☺️

We booked a table for four for Christmas dinner, and the meal was delicious. The pub was fully decorated for Christmas, and our table looked lovely with crackers and seasonal coloured napkins. The staff were super friendly, and the wine was nice quality too. Can definitely recommend.

The food was unquestionably excellent, with good portions and quality, and it came out quickly. There was a nice atmosphere in the inn. It’s good value for a country inn with eight self-contained apartments. Our room was basic but clean and comfortable. There was only one bedside cabinet, and having one on both sides of the bed would have helped. Supplies were a bit meagre: the toilet paper ran out on the first morning, and with the inn locked I had to borrow some from another guest. The hand soap was heavily diluted, and the shower gel was nearly empty.

There were seven of us at lunch on Sunday 25th Jan 2026, and we waited 1.5 hours. That would have been okay if the food had been worth the wait, but it was overcooked, reheated, and the worst meal I’ve ever eaten. I can’t believe I paid for it. I’m not usually one to comment, but please don’t waste your money.

We had a Sunday pub lunch with two couples and a baby each. The staff were kind and friendly, and supportive with the babies. They also offered our friends’ dog a bowl of water. The food was good, and they had veggie roasts and checked whether we were vegan.
