We had a weekend away over the bank holiday with our daughter. Parking was tricky on arrival, and we eventually found a spot farther down the road. In apartment 9 there was an odd smell. At first glance it looked clean, but the bathroom clearly wasn’t. There was hair and urine on the toilet, and dirt and hair in the sink and shower. With no cleaning supplies there, I had to buy bleach and wipes from the shops. I didn’t take before photos of the bathroom, and only gave it a rough clean so we could use it. The rest of the apartment could do with a deep clean too, so we stuck mostly to the bedrooms and bathroom. The bedding looked and smelled fresh, and I was happy to sleep there. The apartment is dated, which didn’t really bother me, but cleanliness needs work. We also had to buy toilet roll because the roll provided looked as if it had been in the toilet. See photos.

The walk into town took about ten minutes, and the street itself was quiet with free parking. Inside, it was clean, though a bit dated and worn. The bed was very comfortable, and there were lots of kitchen utensils for cooking. Good value.

It’s in a convenient spot and has a reasonable amount of equipment. The downstairs rooms are mostly wheelchair accessible, and it seems suitable for families. But cleaning between guests was poor. The downstairs living room sofas looked so unclean that I didn’t want to sit on them.

The owners were so kind when I left something behind: they posted it back to my address for free. It’s also affordable and ideally placed for getting to the town centre.

The bed was comfortable, and the room had a nice shower and en-suite toilet. The vendors were friendly too. There was a kettle, but no tea or coffee sachets, so I had to buy all the drinks supplies I needed.
