We ate at the pub and would happily come back. The portions were generous, the food excellent and the service very good. I had pork bites followed by a burger, while my other half chose the soup of the day and then a cheese and pickle baguette. The landlord and bar team were friendly, and the pub welcomes dogs. Both of ours were pleased to get a treat from the landlord.

It was fairly busy for a midweek lunch, so I was glad we’d booked a table. The food and service were great. We’ll be back.

The pub and restaurant look lovely, but lunch was a letdown. We’d booked Sunday dinner and brought my elderly parents. After we chose two roasts and the menu’s only vegetarian option, we were told the beef had run out, so we switched to pork. Then we were told the veggie dish was gone too. That left one person with vegetables, roast potatoes and a Yorkshire pudding, but no meat or vegetarian main. We were charged the full price for that meal, which seemed a lot for what was served. The dinners were set down and the server walked away before we could ask for mustard. We had to find her to request some. The tables were very close, and a group next to us was so loud that we couldn’t carry on our own conversation. There were also dogs in the restaurant area fighting and barking. With the lack of food choice and poor service, I wouldn’t recommend it.

The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was lovely when we stopped in for Saturday lunch. My fish goujon sandwich had generous pieces of fresh fish in light homemade batter, with fries, and was delicious. I finished with an apple crumble sundae, which was superb. I’ll definitely return.

We meet here often because the meals are consistently really good. The food comes out quickly and is always beautifully cooked and delicious. It’s an amazing place for a high-quality meal.
