The White House

The only reason this was four stars rather than five was the blocked gutter at the rear of the house. Water kept overflowing onto the plastic conservatory roof, making it unbearable to sit under and too noisy to use the dining room. It kept dripping onto the roof even when it wasn’t raining much. Our older parents found the sound especially bad at night because the leak was right by their bedroom window. It was like someone throwing stones at the glass all night, and they barely slept. We were very disappointed to learn the owners had raised the issue back in November and it still hadn’t been fixed. The book even said, “hope this does not affect your stay???” This needs to be made a priority before we stay again. We spent New Year’s Eve 2022/23 here with our family of ten. It’s a lovely, very large, well-equipped house with loads of room for entertaining and celebrating, and ample parking.
