Central Regency Townhouse Brighton

For the price, I’d give Batania Study Hotel four stars. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast was tasty apart from the burnt veggie sausages, and the staff were helpful. The lobby and my room were the standouts. I’d be very likely to recommend it.

We felt deeply uncomfortable and unsafe after a staff member came into our room without permission. I had clearly told him not to enter, but he opened the door and came in while my partner and I were inside. It was a serious invasion of our privacy and dignity, and showed no respect for our personal space. This was unprofessional and unacceptable. I expected much better from a hotel, and management needs to take it seriously and make sure it doesn’t happen again.

The staff were all very friendly, and the place was clean, though basic for the price. At breakfast there was plenty of food, but no choice of egg style, no milk, and no muesli. The cafe felt like a canteen, and a third person on the breakfast shift could have helped keep an eye on arriving guests and replenish items.

For £55 on a Saturday night, right in the heart of Brighton, this was really good value. The breakfast included was lovely, and the staff were kind and helpful. I’d definitely stay here again.
