The staff were super lovely and friendly. For what I paid, it was good: a bed for the night, breakfast in the morning, and a secure spot for my things while I was out. The building was a little worn, which makes sense given its age and size. The lift does need sorting out, especially for people with limited mobility.

The location is fantastic, right by the seashore and very close to the pier. We paid £300 for three days for 13 people, breakfast included, which seems pretty good to me. Breakfast was alright, though there wasn't much choice. The view from the rooms is amazing, unless, like me, you get a room with a window facing a wall. The room was reasonably clean, about what you'd expect in a hostel, and the bathroom was okay too, though the shower was a tiny bit broken because the shower head was missing. Overall, I was fairly satisfied. It didn't exceed my expectations, but it didn't disappoint either. Three stars.

The bathroom was shocking. It clearly hadn't been cleaned before we arrived: body hair covered the shower tray, and there was feces visible on the toilet roll and the wall. Absolutely disgusting, with no excuse for that lack of care. The location was convenient, the staff were friendly, and there was a simple breakfast in the morning. The room was tired and run down, but that was what I expected for the price.

The location is great, right on the seafront near the pier, and the front desk staff are nice. We were in room 13, for eight people. The beds were okay, but the room itself was pretty grotty. Bring a padlock for the under-bed luggage cages and your own towels. The private bathroom really needs an update. WiFi didn't reach our room and was very slow even in the communal lounge. Not the best hostel, but not the worst either.

A minute's walk from the waterfront and not too far from the station. There aren't any towels provided. It's a simple, plain hostel, but for the price, it's about as good as it gets. Fine for a night, and recommended for backpackers and students.
