We took one look at the room and left immediately, even though we'd booked a night. There was no reception, and everything seemed broken, dirty and unhygienic. The room was extremely unclean with no proper ventilation. It was nothing like the advertised place, and the experience was completely unacceptable. Avoid it.

The only good thing was being a two-minute walk from the beach. The room itself was so bad it nearly made us cut our trip short. The pictures weren't accurate, and even staff admitted they were misleading. We paid extra for a room with a view, but the building walls meant all we could see was shabby paintwork. There were loose nails sticking out of broken skirting, damaged furniture with sharp edges, and rain coming through the window onto electrical sockets. The bedding was visibly dirty, stains ran up the walls and across the carpet, and the bathroom door wouldn't close properly. My partner and I slept fully clothed on top of the bedding because we couldn't bear to sleep in it. When we raised our concerns, the manager just said, "Oh, I didn't know." There was no apology or offer to fix anything. The staff member on duty at check-in was so uninformed he didn't know where the extra pillows were kept. I'm not usually one to leave a negative review, but people should know what they're paying for. I've never been so disappointed or grossed out by a hotel room.

The room was filthy, the bathroom mould looked dangerous, and the ceiling seemed close to falling down. The bed looked as if it had never been cleaned, so I slept fully clothed. Water was dripping into my room from the ceiling too. The receptionist seemed confused about my booking. The windows were paper-thin, and street noise was so loud I couldn't sleep until around 3am, though I know that's not really the hotel's fault. If you're drinking heavily in Brighton and don't care where you sleep, maybe this place will do. I've stayed in many hotels and this was by far the worst.

We were so upset by this stay. After a ten-hour trip back from Paris over the Bank Holiday weekend, all we wanted was a good night's sleep, but we didn't feel safe or comfortable enough to sleep at all. We arrived too late to find another hotel, even after trying to call around. The room smelled musty and the walls were damp. Blinds were broken, there were no bins, and holes and cracks in the walls by the bed. The door handle had been removed and stuck back on, and the ceiling lamp was hanging. The communal bathroom was disgusting, and the toilets were filthy. We didn't even use them all night. We lay on top of the beds sitting up, not under the blankets, because of the hygiene. It was truly awful, like something from a film. I've never been one to write reviews, but I'm sharing this to warn anyone considering a visit. We were expecting what was shown online, and this was so upsetting I can't believe a "hotel" like this is still open. I'll attach photos.

There was a drum band playing downstairs until 4am, and the noise kept everyone awake and frustrated. The room toilets were appalling, with mould all over the ceiling that looked like it might come down if hot water ran over it. I didn't want to shower the next morning. There were no cups or tea things in the room either. I paid £150 for a night and now think it wasn't worth £15. This was by far the worst hotel stay I've had, and I won't go back under any circumstances.
