For Students Only Canvas Bristol

I moved out a month ago at short notice because management told me many problems wouldn’t be resolved during my stay. My flat had rats. The manager said they’d never had a report of rats before, but older reviews mention them too. The bin store was constantly overflowing, so it’s no wonder rats were around. Noise was unbearable: groups of people were outside from midnight until 7 or 8 am almost every night, then building work started at 7 am, so there was no quiet break. My uni work was badly disrupted. Night staff were grossly incompetent and made me feel like a hassle whenever I needed anything. After I moved out, I got a final statement saying I’d receive no refund for the disrupted stay. The manager then told me it wasn’t finalised yet, so why send a final statement? The refund deadline is coming up fast and there’s still no sign of it. They also never answered the phone when I called during the day, so I could only reach night staff. For a room costing over £14,000, I expected better. In my experience, you couldn’t pay me to stay here again. Do not stay here.

I felt deeply troubled and unheard at Canvas Bristol. I can’t say whether I was treated differently because of my skin colour, race, ethnicity or something else, but my concerns about my safety, my belongings and the living environment were repeatedly dismissed. Management shifted responsibility onto me and insisted I find a replacement tenant instead of addressing those serious concerns. That felt unfair and showed a complete lack of responsibility. Tenants who raise concerns about safety and equal treatment deserve to be taken seriously, not ignored or pushed aside. I’d urge prospective tenants to think carefully before choosing Canvas Bristol, especially if safety, fairness and respectful treatment matter to you.

The staff are what make Canvas Bristol such a great place to live. They’re super friendly, care about everyone being comfortable, and are quick to help. Whenever I’ve had an issue, it’s been sorted out fast. The building is nice too, and I’d definitely recommend living here.

The location makes student life easy. BIMM is literally next door, town is close for shopping and nights out, and Gloucester Road is right there for coffee, food and independent shops. The building feels modern and secure, and I always felt safe. I loved living at Canvas Bristol. It had a good vibe from day one, and the staff were genuinely nice and helpful. Whenever I needed something, they sorted it quickly and without any drama.
