The rooms were clean, modern and well equipped, and the staff were lovely. The activities and freebies were unlike what I've seen at other accommodation. The location is genuinely amazing, hard to be better placed.

The rooms are really spacious and feel very new, with only a little wear. New Bridewell also has great facilities and keeps things social, with coffee stations, freebie days, movie nights and game nights.

The drilling was one of the worst parts of my stay. I often woke to it during the year, from work underneath where the snack box was being built and from New Bridewell maintenance in the corridors. We got £67 as a goodwill gesture, but I still feel my sleep matters more. Hot water was also often missing, and I saw silverfish in my room, the corridor and kitchen on many occasions. The air vents connect the rooms and kitchen, so smoke or cooking smells from someone else could travel through. In summer it gets very hot, and the central spot can be noisy depending on your room. I was across from the lanes pub and could hear karaoke and music, especially at weekends. There are good points too. Having an en suite was the biggest plus, and the bathroom itself was very nice. The location is central and close to everything, with only 6 people sharing each kitchen, fewer than in other accommodation. It's relatively new, so wear and tear is minor, and the rooms are generally nice and good quality. You might even get lucky with a super large room.

It's on the expensive side, but I'd still recommend it to future students. The en suite rooms are nice, there are lots of fun social activities, and it's a good distance from the uni, shops, clubs and city centre.

It has the basic things you need in a dorm room. The mattress was a bit too soft, though, and the window gap wasn't wide, with no adjustable hooks to let fresh air in.
