Student Only Port on the Square

My son had signed a tenancy at Port on the Square for September 25, but a change in circumstances meant he deferred his place until 2026. At first he was told he’d need to find someone himself to take the room, through Facebook, SpareRoom or elsewhere. After a few weeks without success, we spoke again with Nikola and Ayush. They agreed to cancel the tenancy at no cost, then handled the cancellation quickly and returned his first rent instalment promptly. Thank you, Nikola, for helping us.

I spent three weeks living at the port on the square as an EF student, and it was a really lovely place to stay. The modern dorm had new equipment, and the common areas were nicely laid out and decorated, indoors and out. Inside there’s a pool table, lots of seating and a free coffee machine; outside, there’s a ping pong table, greenery, places to relax and a gym. The rooms and kitchen were well equipped too. It’s about a 20-minute walk to the city centre and close to bus stops. Reception staff were kind, smiling and helpful, especially Nikola. I’d read complaints about Wi-Fi, but it worked perfectly for me. The bigger problems came from EF staff themselves, and Port on the Square management had no influence over those, so I’ll put my opinion of EF under “ef residence”. I recommend this place with all my heart.

I chose a studio and couldn’t be happier with the space or what came with it. Living at The Port On The Square has made starting university in Bristol feel comfortable and fun, especially as an international student far from home. The staff have been kind and supportive since I booked, and they really help you feel at home. The city-centre location is handy, with Cabot Circus, bus stops and grocery stores just a short walk away. There’s also a real sense of community, with events where you can meet people and shared facilities including a gym, cozy study room, cinema room and coffee bar. For anyone coming to Bristol from abroad, I can’t recommend TPOTS enough. It’s been a supportive place to begin this new chapter in my life.

The flat has very new facilities, and the management team are warm and responsible. Nikola, the manager, has been especially helpful to me. I’d recommend this place to anyone.
