The cottage looked lovely in the photos, which is why we booked it. We later found out our dog would only be allowed if kept in the kitchen for the whole week. Sykes Cottage wouldn't refund the unused week, which was really disappointing. If pets aren't welcome throughout the house, it shouldn't be described as pet friendly. I won't use Sykes Cottages again.

We had a fantastic holiday in this brilliant cottage. It was well equipped for all seven of us, and we'd definitely go back.

We had a really good time here, and the place suited us well since we didn't need to head out every day. The lanes are narrow and driving takes care, so it can feel a long way out if you plan to go somewhere daily. Bring torches in case the power goes out. We had a five-hour cut, and the children were worried about going to bed in the dark, though thankfully the electricity came back just before 8.

It's quite secluded, with lovely views and a stream nearby. The style isn't especially modern, but it's well equipped, and the wood burner is a nice touch. Having WiFi and a good TV helped during the quiet evenings.
