Joe and the team made us feel valued throughout our two nights, and their warmth was the best part of the stay. We arrived Friday afternoon for my birthday weekend, found parking easily in the spacious car park, and were welcomed as soon as we entered the pub. Joe led the staff with just the right mix of friendliness and professionalism. Our upstairs room was in an outbuilding only a few metres from the bar and car park. It was large, and Joe had put the heating on before we arrived, so it was already cosy. There was fresh milk in a flask and home baked chocolate chip cookies, with more available if we asked. The super king bed was very comfortable, the wall mounted TV was handy, and the bathroom had Land & Water toiletries. The shower was powerful and hot, the best we've experienced. We ate at the pub on the second night. A small problem with the order was sorted quickly and graciously, with an apology and a kind gesture. The homemade food was excellent, filling and served in generous portions. There were local beers on tap and a well stocked back bar, all in a cosy country pub atmosphere with friendly locals. The Queens Head is charming and historic, with an olde worlde feel. Attentive staff and welcoming locals added to the character of the building and made it easy to settle in. Breakfast each morning had plenty of hot and cold choices. The full English was excellent, alongside fresh pastries, fruit, yoghurt, and plenty of tea, coffee and juice. We'd happily return.

The food was amazing, and we'll definitely be back. Joe, thank you for making us feel so welcome. Your kindness and friendly way of leading really come through in the team, and people with your sense of hospitality are rare. We also got to meet another lovely manager from the same family group. Chapeau to all of you!

Our Sunday lunch was AMAZING, the best roast we've ever had. My husband chose the roast beef and I went for the nut roast, with incredible vegetables and Yorkshire puddings. It was our favourite meal out all year. The staff were delightful, and the place is beautiful. We'll be back.

We stopped for one night while passing through and found the B+B amazing value. Breakfast was excellent quality. The pub has a cosy interior, a nice atmosphere, plenty of drinks to choose from and tasty food. Broad Chalke is a lovely village with lots of walking routes.

On 23/11/25 I had the beef roast, probably one of the best pub roast dinners I've had. The roast potatoes were the best I've eaten outside of home cooking. Definitely recommend it. I was too full to manage the Yorkshire pudding.
