We went to The Black Dog for dinner with friends midweek, our first visit. The pub and restaurant were warm and welcoming, in a beautiful setting. The menu had so many tempting choices, and the dishes came out quickly, hot and full of flavour. The faggots were especially delicious and brought back lovely childhood memories. Highly recommend.

The staff were lovely and so accommodating, especially with our six-month-old dog. They really couldn't have done more for us. The food was tasty, there was a good range of veggie options, and the whole place had a great vibe.

We spent six nights at the black dog over New Year and were so grateful for the kindness and hospitality of every staff member. The food was amazing, and New Year's Eve was totally awesome. Thanks again to you all. We'll be back.

This was our second stay with the lovely team at The Black Dog, and once again they looked after us wonderfully. Everyone was friendly, courteous and ready to help. We had breakfast and dinner each day, and the food was very good throughout. I'd highly recommend the pub for a meal or an overnight stay, and we'll certainly come back.

We were expecting a carvery for Sunday lunch, as advertised on the website, but only found out after sitting down and ordering that it would be plated, vegetables included. The gammon was more like sliced ham, and the potatoes reminded me of frozen ones. It also cost more than the website price, so they should update that. It wasn't the worst roast I've had, but it wasn't the best either.
