The Lily Pad

We stayed locally for a wedding in Christchurch, and the location was great for the main attractions. Poole, Bournemouth, and other places are nearby. The beach isn't far and is one of the best by far in Bournemouth. I've always loved Poole harbour. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with lovely fresh sheets. Christine was very friendly and made us feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. We'll definitely come again.

The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room smelled and felt very clean. It was well equipped with a mini fridge, kettle, coffee, fresh milk, water, and a TV. The bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

The hosts were fine and there was plenty of parking, but this wasn't a B&B as advertised. You could at least make a much-needed cuppa in the morning. The room was small and looked out onto a fairly quiet main road. We arrived at 22:30 in late October to a cold room, and the bed felt damp, maybe because it hadn't been used for a while. I woke with a terribly stiff neck and aches all over. There was no soap or shampoo for the hot shower. Cold and damp in late October isn't acceptable. Seb had already left early in the morning, so we let ourselves out and went to look for painkillers and something to eat.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED. AWFUL ATTITUDE and no communication. I'd misunderstood the distance and tried to cancel within an hour of making an emergency booking. I told my husband within that hour that we had to cancel for a very good reason. There was no empathy or consideration, and my refund was refused.
