The village made the stay easy, with a convenience shop across the road and two nearby pubs serving really good food. We also had a fantastic breakfast at the cafe opposite. Our room, Mary queen of Scots, was lovely, with a comfortable double bed, its own bathroom, a bath and a strong shower. There was locally sourced shortbread and tea and coffee in the room. We enjoyed ourselves, though the one-night price felt a little high, and the bathroom only had shower wash, with no shampoo or conditioner.

The contactless check-in was straightforward, and the host was friendly and helpful throughout. Studio 2 had all we needed for a cosy countryside break, including a great range oven that we used to bake bread and other local produce for breakfast. The tea and shortbread were a thoughtful extra. With the station, pubs, shops and cycle hire all conveniently close, we had a wonderful stay. I'd happily book again and recommend it.

The bed was really comfortable, and we slept well. Although the room faces a busy road, we didn't hear the traffic. It was a lovely little space, compact but bright, airy and clean, with tea and coffee facilities. Everything we needed at an affordable price. I'd definitely stay again if I'm in the area.

The location is a real highlight, right by the station and with so many nearby places to experience, including a wide choice of restaurants. The rooms were lovely and clean, and the owners have clearly put a lot of care into making guests feel welcome.

The coded entry was handy, especially for Covid, and being close to the station was convenient. We had the room at the front, which was somewhat noisy. There were builders next door during our stay too, so we were unlucky with the timing.
