The staff were the best part of this stay. Reception, bar and dining room staff were polite, helpful and genuinely nice, and the reception, bar and dining areas looked tidy. The food was decent too. Parking for our coach was readily available, and check-in was quick. The bedroom was a very different story. It looked all right at first, but there was thick dust around the carpet edges and on the TV stand, crumbs and dust on the dressing table, chipped paint on the door frames, filthy skirting boards, and a broken chair. There were hairs in the bath, toilet and on the bathroom floor, plus food or drink stuck to the padded panel above the bed. The stale, musty smell made me feel sick, with car air freshener trying to cover it up. The double bed seemed to be two single beds pushed together on their sides, and felt like cardboard with a few springs. I complained, and they removed the chair and cleaned the table. The room needs a lot of attention and a refurbishment.

We used one of the conference rooms for a business pitch. Rosalie got back to me quickly and made the arrangements we needed. I heard the meeting room was good, the food was nice and the staff were attentive. The team did say the coffee wasn't great, though there was a Starbucks available. I'd book the venue again if the need came up.

We had a brilliant time going to Crufts with Caledonian Travel. The rooms were fantastic, the food was delicious, and the staff were so helpful and friendly.

The rooms are a good size and were clean, but the bathroom let them down. The bath tap was loose, there was mould on the tiles, and the toilet wouldn't flush properly, so we had to use a bucket. Food was fine, though the choices were limited and repetitive.

The location works well for groups meeting up and is not far from the M42 and M5. I was there for lunch and an event, which was worth attending, but the Quorn burger was awful, like eating heavy-duty cardboard. The hotel has real potential, but the walls had paper hanging off them and the chairs and carpets were grimy. It badly needs refurbishment. I was glad I wasn't staying overnight.
