We travelled an hour for a birthday dinner for four on 9 May 2026. The £65 per head price, with one non-drinker, felt worth it for a special occasion, although the wine was particularly pricey. The food looked beautiful, and the seafood was amazing, but my langoustine ravioli had dry filling and tough pasta. There were varied menu choices, including four vegetarian options, and dishes like caviar veloute. Our round table in a quiet bay window was delightful; the decor was beautiful and the noise level was comfortable. The waiters were mostly very helpful, but the end of the evening was disappointing. With only 20 minutes left at the table, we asked about coffee. A young man went to check whether there was room in the lounge and never returned. We waited 20 minutes, then left at 8pm without coffee.

The Seafield Arms Hotel was the highlight of our visit to Cullen. It’s in great shape and seems well cared for by its owners. We had dinner in the bar, where the atmosphere was lovely and the staff were considerate and professional. My wife had the Sunday beef roast, and I went for the chicken schnitzel. Both were excellent and good value. We’re from Nairn and came to Cullen for a couple of nights in our campervan. The seafront campsite was nice and quiet at this time of year. The town itself is a real gem, with lovely walks and little streets lined with individual shops, including antiques shops. Thanks for a delightful evening.

The food and drinks were fantastic, and the staff treated us with real care. Thanks to Mark, Dylan and Olivia for being so understanding with our autistic 20 year old nephew, who had a few breakdowns. We came to bury our mother in Findochty, and we were definitely loud Canadians. Sorry for any inconvenience, if you felt any. The professional staff handled everything with care. This place has welcomed royal families and celebrities over the years. It’s absolutely fantastic. I’d give it 10 stars if I could. Thanks again for everything.

The waiter was so accommodating with us and our 3 year old, and we had a wonderful family dinner at Seafield Arms. Visiting from London, we went for typical Scottish dishes: white and black pudding Bon Bon with a lovely sauce, then haggis, neeps and tatties for me and a ham hock pie. We started with the local IPA Sunshine on Keith, smooth and not too high in ABV, then had a smooth Italian red that paired well with the haggis. Sorry, I didn’t catch its name. Cullen is worth a visit even in a wet January. Before leaving, we enjoyed looking over the wall of celebrities from music and film, including Matt Damon and Sir David Jason, who have visited. We stayed nearby by the sea rather than at the hotel, so I can’t comment on the rooms, though I’m sure they’re great. Recommended.

We spent a couple of nights here, and the Lower Mews room worked very well for my wheelchair needs. It was spacious and all on one level, with good radiators that were easy to adjust. There’s parking right outside, and the small bathroom has a good wet room and plenty of grab rails. The hotel sits on a hill, but there are two entrances for access. The staff were very helpful, the food was very good, and breakfast was lovely. It’s in a lovely place, and we’d definitely recommend staying here.
