We’ve got to know some of the locals over our stays, and I’d definitely recommend their Sunday Roast sharing board. We’ve been coming every year since lockdown, usually staying in Birdie, but it was booked this time so we had Bug instead. Bug was superb too. Another visit with Simon Sarah Noah and Aggie, who work so hard to keep a very small village pub going. Can’t fault them.

The Gaggle of Geese has lovely gardens, with bright flowers and open spaces, and the pub’s cozy interior felt welcoming. My niece and nephew especially loved climbing around the double-decker soft play area. We also enjoyed the range of food, from filling pub classics to lighter bites, which suited everyone in our group. The staff were very kind and accommodating. They had a lively party going on while we were there and were also running archery lessons across the grounds, which was a fun touch. I didn’t stay overnight, though the glamping looked like a dream, and I’d like to return for it and the peaceful countryside setting. As someone with a disability, I found the three steps into the pub tricky and felt a little exposed, even with staff being supportive and helpful. A disabled access ramp, perhaps from the garden, would make a big difference for people like me. I left smiling and with memories I’ll cherish. Such a charming, fun and welcoming place.

We went for a friend’s birthday, and they made an extra effort for the occasion, which we appreciated. The roast dinner was great, everything tasted delicious.

The atmosphere was great all evening, and the pub was really dog friendly. Staff were attentive and helpful, and the food was first class. Couldn’t fault a thing.

We booked after spotting the menu and good Google ratings while looking for somewhere new to try for a Sunday Roast. There were three of us sharing the new roast board, which was amazing and had plenty of meat for the money: perfectly cooked pork belly, beef and chicken leg. We were greeted by a beautiful collie who led us to the front door. It’s a great pub with friendly, attentive staff and great food. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it!
