Penhalt Farm Apartment

The views over the beach and rolling landscape are really good. You can walk to the beach in 30 minutes along the South West Coast Path or by road. The beach is sand by the car park, with pebbles and rocks in some areas. Check out the local shop on the main road next to the beach, it has a huge range of fresh fish. The site is basic, with all grass pitches and some electric. Showers had warm water and good pressure. The games room was closed during our stay, and there’s a small outdoor kids’ play area. The top pitches are flat, while the lower part of the same field slopes.

We’ve been coming here three times a year for around 6 years and have never had a complaint. The views are beautiful, the layout is nice, and the site is always clean and very well maintained. Jill and Mark are welcoming, even when busy keeping on top of everything, and always find time to chat and offer help. If you need something while Jill’s busy, just give Mark a nudge to wake him from his nap and he soon springs to life.

We’d stay again. It’s a lovely, clean site with good facilities, in a stunning spot that’s perfect for reaching the coastal path and is dog friendly. Nobody was there when we arrived, and we couldn’t get a reply to our landline or mobile messages. After waiting a couple of hours, we chose our own electric pitch and went for a walk. When we caught up with them, there was absolutely no problem, they’d forgotten the phone. These things happen!

Just back from a few days at Penhalt Farm, our third visit. The weather wasn’t at its best and it was very windy up on the hill, but the stunning views, clean toilets and hot showers more than made up for it.
