Claire was a wonderful hostess, and even gave us a lift to Bicton Arena for our competition. The house feels warm and homely while still being elegant and tastefully furnished. Our room and its views were beautiful, and breakfast was gorgeous. I can’t fault the stay and want to thank Claire and her staff for making us so welcome. We’re really looking forward to returning to Syon House.

We loved Syon House enough to add an extra night and will definitely be back. The room had an outstanding view, and breakfast was brilliant. We only made a last minute booking, but the housekeeper, Yola, was so lovely and welcoming, always ready to help. The owner was warm and friendly too, and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend!

It felt like being lord of the manor during our great night at Syon House. Clare handled our booking, which we made only a couple of hours before arriving, with charm and no fuss. She pointed us to an excellent pub for dinner, just what we needed. Breakfast went on for a couple of hours, with Clare chatting to us as if we were at a friend’s house for the weekend. Thanks, Clare. We’ll be back!

The views from the lovely rooms are absolutely breathtaking. This lovingly restored grand Georgian House has a luxurious feel, with the host having thought of everything, from the rooms to the fabulous bathrooms. Breakfast is superb. It’s my first choice when I’m working in the Exeter area, and second to none.

Everything was spotless and thoughtfully arranged, and breakfast was amazing. The bathroom setup was a bit unusual: the door is designed not to close, and there are blinds. That was a new one for us, lol. Still, I’d tell friends it’s a good place to stay. The bed might be the comfiest I’ve ever slept in.
