Jane was a fabulous host and couldn't have done more for us. The room and food prices were very reasonable, and the breakfast was the best ever. My friend and I were both delighted with our stay. Thanks to Jane and all the staff. Xx

A good spot for a drink or meeting friends, but the meal was disappointing. Ordering took a while, the food had no taste, and an annoying fly kept trying to land on my plate. I'd been recommended the place, so I was let down.

Friendly service, generous portions, and great food.

The room we got was filthy. There was stuff all over the carpet and bathroom floor, fresh pee stains on the toilet seat, food on the wall, crumbs all over the tea tray, and blood on the quilt. It looked like the cleaner hadn't been in at all, though maybe this was a one-off. The rest of our group of five couples were happy with their rooms, and the 12 of us who ate there all had good meals. Staff were nice, and the beer was good and cheap.

Four of the five meals were lovely, but my mum couldn't eat her steak. She'd asked for it well done and it came out closer to medium rare. I told the waitress, who took the plates away without even apologising and asked if we wanted dessert.
