Weston Hall Hotel, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western

The calm, cosy feel of Weston Hall Hotel made it easy to relax over the bank holiday weekend, and the rooms were spotless. We really enjoyed the food, too. Our dog Nala was welcomed like royalty the whole time, so travelling with her was a joy. The staff were warm and friendly from start to finish. We'd definitely recommend it for a peaceful break with your dog.

The staff were friendly, and the food was OK, though nothing special. But the room was tiny, with poor lighting that made it hard to work, and the bathroom was dim enough to make shaving difficult. There was nowhere suitable to put an open suitcase, and the room felt big enough for only one person. In February, the radiator kept it just about warm enough. The small double bed was pushed almost against the wall, leaving hardly any room to move around it. It was hard, while the pillows were too soft, so I slept badly. The WiFi dropped both when I went between the bedroom and the bar or restaurant and while I was in the room, which left me using a lot of mobile data.

Graham and the waiters were fantastic on the night, and the bar staff were super friendly. I organised a Masquerade Ball for our local theatre company at Weston Hall, and they went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. The food was incredible. I can't recommend the place enough for functions or an overnight stay :)

Breakfast was really good, the best part of my stay, and all the staff were helpful and polite. I was there on a business trip. My room was OK, though it could use a little TLC and modernisation. A repeating sound, like a valve opening every hour, kept me from getting a good night's sleep. Maybe another room would have made the difference to my sleep and my score. The hotel has a lot of history, which is worth reading about. The large bar had some nice features, though the seating layout felt a bit odd. The food was nice and priced as expected.
