Sandy Meadows Lodge Park

We stayed about seven years ago and came back this weekend, but not much seems to have changed. There was no heating or hot water when we arrived. They came up pretty quickly, then we waited around two hours for a boiler man while sitting in the cold trying to keep warm. The hot tub water wasn't clean and definitely hadn't been changed or cleaned before we got there, so we couldn't use it. We couldn't get a seat for Saturday's entertainment, and all the kids' activities were booked up too quickly. It was nice to get away, but there was nothing for the kids to do on the park and they were bored. We won't be back.

We come back several times a year because we absolutely love it here. It's the perfect holiday spot, nice and clean, and the staff are always so helpful. The kids have the best time.

We've been coming for a few years and always loved staying as a family in a platinum or gold lodge with a hot tub. But the last two years have been diabolical. I don't expect everything to be perfect when lots of people rent the lodges, but I do expect them to be clean and tidy, with a usable hot tub. The cutlery and plates were dirty and many were missing, the bed slats were broken and the showers leaked. The kettle kept tripping the electrics. We called, then had no power for over an hour, even though it took just five minutes to fix once someone finally came out. The hot tubs are meant to be checked twice a day, but ours was checked once during this stay, and again we had to call. My son came out in a rash from head to toe. Now the tub is badly discoloured. We asked if it could be changed and staff shouted at us that there'd be a £75 charge, as though it were our fault they hadn't done their jobs and checked the water. After all the problems last year, the park offered us 50% off our next stay, so we returned to see if anything had improved. We're stuck in the same situation again, with all the problems above happening again. We're here for seven days and have only been able to use the hot tub once. I highly don't recommend it. Save your money or pay extra to go somewhere else.

The site is nice and quiet, but, like the rest of Brean, a bit run down. We booked a lodge with a hot tub, but it leaked and we couldn't use it during our stay. They refunded us quickly and handled the problem well.
