We had a lovely weekend in the area and stopped by this pub. The staff are lovely, there's a good range of beers, and the Pendle Pie was gorgeous. I'd happily have it again. I also loved the art by local artists on the wall.

The traditional pub food was beautiful, and the cask ale was perfectly kept. We found the apartment sparkling clean and spacious, and it even had a bath!!!!!!! From the warm welcome when we arrived, The Pendle gave us a fantastic stay with everything we could ask for and more.

The food has really gone downhill since I used to enjoy visiting here. My Chicken & Bacon Ciabatta was bland and had barely any bacon. The salad is mostly iceberg lettuce now, with little else, and the proper chips have been replaced by a small handful of McDonalds-style fries. Today's meal was a real letdown, and I'm in no hurry to come back.

Lunch was awful. The chips were so dry I couldn't eat them, and the pie was cold in the middle. I paid a good price expecting a good meal, but was disgusted. I asked to see the manager, Maggie, and thought it had to be a joke when she appeared in slacks and a hoodie. Manager? The attire was disgraceful. If it were my pub, I wouldn't have someone dressed like that on the front line. I didn't want my money back, so I just left. I won't be returning.

The cheese pie was well worth ordering, and the homemade chips were the best I’ve had in ages. We just dropped in for a meal and the lovely staff made it a really nice stop. Thanks so much!
