Raphael House

The house worked really well for our group of four adults and four young children. We stayed at Raphael House in May 2025 for a joint family and friends holiday, and the owners were kind and personable. The water views were lovely when it was clear and not raining. There was plenty to keep us occupied, including DVDs and Blu-rays, books, board games and the outdoor hot tub. It was well equipped for a comfortable stay, with a washer-dryer, plenty of plates and drinkware, some children's dishes, and decent cookware for self-catering. Having three bathrooms, a bath with shower and two other showers was great for us. We could have used more deep cereal bowls and spoons, and a few extra towels would have been a nice touch. Still, we really have no complaints and would absolutely return.

Ben and Marie couldn't have done more for us. We left feeling rested and already thinking about coming back. Raphael House gave us a peaceful, secluded stay while still being close to local attractions and amenities. The hot tub was spotless and lovely to sink into after a day out, with the views making it even better. The house itself was comfortable and spacious, with a well equipped kitchen, a nicely decorated living area where we watched a film on Saturday because the weather was awful, and beautifully furnished bedrooms. Outside, the garden was well kept and had enough seating to enjoy the scenery. The views were stunning, and the whole stay exceeded our expectations.

The property itself wasn't that bad, but our holiday was ruined by the way the owners handled things. At 7:30 in the evening, one came over and told us to turn the music down, which took all the fun out of the evening. We were upset and had to move our BBQ inside instead of enjoying the fresh air. At 5am, they were hoovering and cleaning outside, which woke us up. We had planned to use the jacuzzi bath before leaving, but the owner was cleaning it at 5am. It felt like they cared only about making money and not customer service. A very bad experience, a waste of money, and I wouldn't recommend the property.

We spent Christmas at this lovely house with my family. It had beautiful seasonal decorations and everything we needed to enjoy the celebrations. Thank you!
