We've stayed at Five wells barn three times now, and love it. It's a well appointed barn conversion with good facilities on a working sheep farm. On a dark, cold winter night, the wood burner is bliss. You can reach Buxton in 15 minutes, and Chelmoreton's village pub is a short walk away. If you want peace and quiet away from it all, this is the place.

We came from abroad to visit England and chose to stay here instead of with family, who came to see us. Leaving was so hard, it felt like we'd left home. Mark and Caroline are wonderful, welcoming and kind. They're happy to help and chat, and seem comfortable whether you're chatty or quiet. The place was nicely stocked with what we needed, including some food and useful bits to get started. They supplied firewood and kept more in the barn for us to take as needed. There was underfloor heating and radiators, which we could turn on or off. The barn style door was nice half open for a breeze. Everything was clean and worked well. The bed was very comfortable, the shower hot, and the log burner clean and in good order. The TV has free sat, though with the window right beside you, we barely watched it. It's a great spot for a run, with routes to suit different distances and hill difficulty. The pub is a quick 8 minute walk downhill, then 15 minutes back up, depending on how many you've had. Bakewell and Buxton are both 15 minutes by car. The roads around the farm are quiet, with little traffic even at night. This place is magical and perfect for a couple. It was 100% our favourite part of coming home to visit family, and we'll be back as soon as we can.

A lovely Peak District retreat, tucked away from the beaten track. This little cottage is great for one or two people, comfortable inside, beautifully decorated, very clean, with a lovely wood burner.

A converted barn/stable, modernised to a high standard, with stunning views. Waking up to the farm horse and sheep outside the window was a lovely touch, as were the croissants, bread and other little things waiting on arrival. It's a beautiful place. Parking right outside can be tricky, especially in wetter weather, though I'm sure that will be sorted. Well worth a visit.

The views are lovely, and the owners are really friendly. We stayed in a cosy converted barn tucked away from everything, with a generous welcome pack. It made an ideal base for exploring the surrounding area.
