The art in the Pavilion was a nice surprise, with some lovely pieces at very reasonable prices. There’s also a cafe and a separate ice cream pavilion. The park is beautifully maintained and very family-friendly, though it isn’t huge. We had a fantastic time on a sunny day, even though it got crowded from about 2 pm to 5 pm, which made sense in that weather. The miniature train was a big hit with my child, so we rode it twice. It’s £2.50 per person for two laps, a really cute little ride and well worth it.

We only made a quick detour and weren’t sure what to expect, but it turned into a lovely relaxing hour or two among the gardens. There are all sorts of plants, little water features, and trees with name plaques, which we thought was a good idea. We picked up a couple of gifts at the nice little shop. The cafe was the letdown for me, since every premade food option had mayonnaise and I couldn’t eat any of them. Otherwise the prices seemed reasonable, there was a decent choice of fillings, plus cakes and smaller snacks. Neither of the two car park payment machines was working on the day we visited.

The band playing made our sunny couple of hours even more fun. I was there with a friend and her young daughter, and the playground was great.

Right in the heart of Buxton, this is a lovely park to visit, especially in summer. It has plenty for families, couples, or anyone on their own: a children's train ride, play areas, a greenhouse, and sometimes stalls in the hall. You can also get ice cream and food there.

We came for parkrun and had a great time. It's a gorgeous park for a walk, with a cafe inside too. It looks especially lovely with a light covering of snow.
