Premier Inn Macclesfield North

The cooked breakfast was amazing, and the restaurant staff were friendly and attentive. You order the cooked breakfast from staff here instead of using a buffet like at other Premier Inn hotels. We stayed for two nights over Christmas while visiting family. There’s plenty of free parking outside, and a Beefeater next door serving continental and cooked breakfast. The rooms were clean, tidy, and spacious enough for our family of four. The one issue was heating that wouldn't turn down, which made the room uncomfortable at night.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and checking in and out was straightforward. The location was good, with plenty of convenient parking. We were disappointed that our room wasn't cleaned during our stay. I don't know if that's the current policy, but as a family of four, fresh towels, emptied bins, and topped-up tea and coffee supplies would have helped. The room also felt stuffy: the temperature wouldn't go below 19°C, though we usually sleep at 16°C or less, and the very high-tog duvet made it worse. The pillows weren't especially comfortable either. One small oddity was the square toilet paper, which felt more like something from a public toilet than a hotel room. It's a convenient, friendly hotel, but better housekeeping and a few comfort changes would make a real difference for families.

I enjoyed my stay overall. The room was lovely and the bed comfortable, though there was mould on the wall and the toilet seat was dirty and needs replacing.

It worked well as a place to sleep before heading to Lapland. There isn't a restaurant in the hotel, so you go next door to a Beefeater for meals. It's just through one door and in the other.
