The room was quiet, clean and cosy, just what I needed for a peaceful weekend. The hotel is right by a beautiful park that's lovely to walk in, and it's close to the town centre too. When I arrived much later than expected, the owner met me at the door and went through some information. They kindly repeated it over breakfast the next morning, knowing I must have been tired after the long trip. Breakfast was excellent, with a small menu to suit everyone and a buffet of cheeses, yogurts, cereals and lots of fresh juices. I can't recommend this place enough, and I'll definitely be back.

Gerard and Maggie are wonderful hosts, and Gerard knows the town really well. His advice was genuinely helpful before we headed out. Roseleigh House is spacious and beautifully decorated, with very comfortable, well equipped rooms and modern ensuite bathrooms with all the facilities you'd need. Breakfast was the best quality we've ever had. Roseleigh is also a great base for Buxton, whether you're interested in the Crescent's architecture, the history of the Spa water, or the many good restaurants and bars. Highly recommended, and we'll stay here again.

We had a lovely time in Buxton and found the guesthouse peaceful and ideally placed. It was easy to walk everywhere, and there's a gorgeous park across the road. The room was large, very clean and comfortable, with good beds. Breakfast was delicious, freshly prepared and had a great selection. Service was smooth and professional, and all the staff were efficient and friendly.

The hot porridge and freshly baked scones with tea were highlights at breakfast, though there was plenty to choose from. The owners of this charming guest house are so warm and welcoming, and Jarred (I hope I've spelled his name correctly) knows the area remarkably well. He gave thoughtful tips for restaurants and hiking trails, and took time to share stories about Buxton's history and explain important events. The house is opposite a beautiful park, a real hidden gem worth taking time to explore. Buxton itself is a lovely town with friendly locals and plenty of inviting restaurants. At Bailey’s, ask for Steven, the Rothschild wine is excellent value. At Simply Thai, look out for Oliver, the charming “Harry Potter” look-alike who provides wonderful service. Breakfast easily rivals a fine hotel's.

We've stayed twice and loved it both times. Gerard and Maggie are friendly, welcoming hosts, and Gerard gave us great suggestions for hikes and places to visit around Buxton. Our room was spotless, clean and airy, with amazing views. Breakfast was freshly cooked, delicious and offered plenty of choice. We'd love to return.
