The hotel made a good base for exploring: it's around a 30-minute drive north to Conway, while heading south soon brings you into Snowdonia National Park. The flat plain by the River Conwy isn't the most attractive setting, and the building's ultra-modern design would fit into many a modern city, which felt surprising in North Wales. Inside, the spaces are open, spacious and fully accessible, which suited my disabled wife well. Our room was very large and accessible, with a well-designed wet room. We did find the wardrobe tiny and there weren't enough drawers for clothes. The restaurant menu was limited, but the meals were all delicious, and staff were friendly and helpful. After our days out, we enjoyed a beer in the large seating area beside the bar. One thing to know is that this is a hotel with a spa: the spa is a separate business, and access costs extra rather than being included in a hotel booking. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

We had dinner in the restaurant all three nights, and both the food and service were excellent. The room was comfortable and very clean, and all the staff were pleasant and helpful. A special thank you to Charlotte at reception for the warm welcome and useful advice throughout our stay. We treated ourselves to the sauna and spa at the end of the trip and were blown away. There's so much to see and do nearby, and we'll definitely be back. Keep up the good work. David and Katherine Hodkinson.

The food was a highlight at Ixora Hotel & Spa. Breakfast offered an impressive range of fresh, flavourful choices, and we also enjoyed eating at the hotel restaurant, where every meal was prepared beautifully and served with great hospitality. Our room was spotless, spacious and well kept, with a wonderfully comfortable bed. Housekeeping kept it fresh and tidy every day, so we slept well after exploring. The hotel had a relaxing, elegant feel, and its facilities were well maintained. The spa was soothing and rejuvenating, just what we needed for a getaway. We spent three wonderful nights here. From arrival onward, the service was warm and professional, and the staff took care of requests promptly and with a smile. They made us feel valued throughout our stay. The experience exceeded our expectations, and we'd highly recommend Ixora Hotel & Spa for comfort, good food and excellent service. We can't wait to return.

We had a lovely two nights, and the spa was part of an experience we can't praise highly enough. The modern rooms were really comfortable, especially the bed. The bar and staff were top class, the food was amazing and such good value. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, the icing on the cake. We couldn't have asked for more and will definitely come back. One request for breakfast, please add black pudding 😃

We booked through Secret Escapes for my partner's birthday, and they messed up the reservation. Even so, the hotel's customer service fell short of what I'd expect from a four-star place. The staff seemed miserable and unhelpful. The rooms look nice and modern, but weren't as clean as they should have been. The desk was dusty, the glasses weren't clean and there were marks on the mirrors. Restaurant service was painfully slow. We waited half an hour for pitta bread and olives, which needed no cooking or preparation, and only got them after chasing the waiter. The restaurant wasn't busy and had plenty of empty tables. Mains took over an hour. My partner ordered lamb, which apparently takes 30 minutes to cook, though the menu doesn't mention that. It arrived as two small pieces, so my partner had to order another main. The restaurant manager was really nice and apologetic; without him, we would have left. The spa felt very overpriced for what you get. The outdoor area was closed because of the weather, leaving everyone crowded into the jacuzzi area. There weren't enough loungers for the number of people allowed in, the facilities were full, and we felt constantly on top of other people. We left after an hour. It wasn't clean either, and none of the changing room lockers worked, so our belongings were left unsecured. The spa reception staff were rude and didn't seem to want to be there. They weren't welcoming at all. Breakfast was OK, served buffet-style and kept hot enough. But only one coffee machine was working, so we had a long wait for a hot drink. This was a very disappointing experience, and I wouldn't return. There's a lot to improve, starting with the miserable, unhelpful staff.
