The setting feels calm and restorative, with beautiful nature right outside and plenty of lovely spots to sit around the house. It was a great base for hiking and canoeing, or just relaxing. Breakfast was delicious and made to suit each person’s wishes. Our hosts were attentive and provided lots of nice amenities. The B&B was immaculate, well cared for, and had gorgeous rooms and a lovely garden. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

Scott and Anna were such lovely hosts, happy to share local tips and make sure we got the most from our visit. They were also great company. Breakfast was delicious, homemade, and served in the dining room with a view over the loch, with continental and full English options. My room was spacious, the bed comfortable with crisp white sheets, and the en-suite spotless. Rowan House is a gem of a B&B, with beautiful loch views and outdoor activities right nearby, from paddle boarding and kayaking to hiking, mountain biking and swimming. I can’t recommend it enough.

We found it a lovely change of pace from city life, peaceful and relaxing in beautiful surroundings. Loch Goil is right there to look out over, with walks nearby and good pubs and restaurants for dinner. The hosts were warm and welcoming, and the rooms and property were spotless. Breakfast was amazing, especially the potato scones and sliced square sausages. I’d definitely recommend a break here.

The apartment had everything we needed for self catering, and even a private garden right on the loch shore. The hosts had plenty of information about local activities and places to eat, and were always happy to answer questions. There’s good internet and Sky TV for a film after a day out. Our room was very clean and beautifully decorated, with a comfortable bed and sofas. Thoughtful details included toiletries, a makeup cloth, and welcome biscuits and chocolates. From the warm welcome onward, we felt at home. Rowan House sits in a gorgeous spot with open views of Lochgoil and the hills, ideal for walks and relaxing. We’d strongly recommend it and will be back.

Scott and Anna were terrific hosts, welcoming and ready to help with anything. The rooms were roomy and spotless, and breakfast had lots of options. Inside, the house is bright and inviting, matching the great impression made by the exterior. There’s plenty of space outside to sit and take in the fantastic loch view. We’ll definitely return.
