Meadow view is in a really peaceful spot, and the hostess was welcoming and friendly. The rooms were spacious, fresh and spotless, with a TV and tea, coffee and hot chocolate facilities. Our private bathroom was modern, fully tiled and just as clean, with plenty of hot water and fresh towels. The bed was awesome, and I slept really well. Breakfast was continental, with four cereals, toast, muffins, crumpets, fresh juice, tea, instant or cafeteria coffee, fruit and yoghurt. It was all set out in your own personal space in the dining area. I’d rate Meadow view as a luxury stay with a great hostess.

The one thing I struggled with was having nowhere to put toiletries in the shower. I have a spine condition that makes bending difficult, so it was a bit of a test. I managed for one night, but if we stayed longer I’d need to bring something to help. That aside, Meadowview Cottage exceeded our expectations and was a real plus during our week in the South West. The accommodation was superb, and I’d thoroughly recommend it. We’d never tried a homestay before and I wondered how it would compare with a hotel. Michelle gave us a warm welcome, asked us to take off our shoes, showed us the dining room where we’d have the complimentary continental breakfast, then took us upstairs to St.Ives View. The whole property was tastefully decorated, and the room was just as lovely and a good size, with everything we needed. The towels were soft and huge, the tea-making setup was great and even had a full-size kettle, and there was bottled water and glasses. The TV was a generous size and wall-mounted. We look forward to returning when we’re back in the area. A+++++

Michelle met us when we arrived and showed us around. She was very polite and nothing seemed too much trouble. The ensuite room was spotless, and it was good value for money. This was our first stay here, but we’ll use it again. Mark and Belinda Preece.

We had a lovely welcome, great facilities and a good breakfast. It’s a perfect base for getting to the South West Coastal Path. We really enjoyed our stay.

The food was amazing, and the hospitality was just as good. Everything was very clean, and they made us feel so welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. We’ll come back.
