We slept badly here, and I wouldn’t recommend the place or stay again. The building was noisy, with footsteps and singing carrying through, and the washing machine across from our bedroom often ran late at night, shaking the bedroom walls. It was old and musty, with peeling wallpaper. Cameras were right in your face, which made us wonder whether there were cameras inside the flat as well. The bigger problem was the cold. The radiators stayed cold, and the old property’s poor insulation made the lack of heating even worse. We were charged a lot for a small short-term rental, yet when we complained, we were asked to leave. I still have a recording of the husband shouting at us on the phone, and I plan to share it on social media. He claimed they’d gone above and beyond by providing heating, but we’d paid for a week and expected a comfortable place, not a favor. They call it a four-star hotel, but I’d give it four stars out of a hundred. I’ve stayed in accommodation across more than 47 countries, and this is among the two worst properties I’ve experienced. Check the Homerton reviews too. I’d recommend Tailored stays apartments instead. They’re beautiful, modern two-bedroom flats with thoughtful owners who know how to run accommodation. I used to run Airbnbs before selling them, and it really isn’t hard to provide a decent short-term rental.
