The Cambridge Suites - Tas Accommodations

I wouldn’t recommend booking here. I only read the reviews after making my reservation, and they mention bed bugs and dirty rooms, including the towels and carpets. I have asthma, so I can’t stay somewhere that dirty. The owner was just as arrogant and unfriendly as people said. Even though I tried to cancel more than two months ahead, he wouldn’t let me. The service was awful. It feels like they only want the money and don’t care about guests.

The location was good, and the suite felt much more relaxed than staying in a hotel. We’d definitely come back. The kids liked being able to use the sitting room and TV, and having the kitchen and dining area made meals easier. It had a cooker, fridge-freezers and a washing machine, so we could prepare full meals and store food. Access to the garden was a nice extra, and the suite had everything we needed.

I’m still waiting for a proper response to my complaint and refund request. It’s been five days, and all I’ve received is an automated message asking me to leave a Google review. The reply thanked me for staying at Cambridge Studios and Suites by Tas Accommodations, said every guest is valued and that they hoped I’d enjoyed the accommodation and service, then asked for feedback on their Google account. It didn’t address my complaint at all. I couldn’t park on site as the listing said I could. There was no hot water in the room, so I had to boil the kettle to wash and couldn’t use the shower. I ran the taps and shower for at least 10 minutes both that night and the next morning, but still couldn’t get hot water. The blinds let in so much light that I woke up extremely early. It was not a successful stay, and I waited to post this review in case my complaint was resolved.

The cancellation policy was vague, with the website and confirmation email only saying that policies vary by accommodation type. I understand cancellations aren’t always refundable, but this was a one-night stay I couldn’t make because of a family emergency. I explained the situation to the owner more than two weeks before my planned date, before they had charged me. They refused to refund me and charged me within the next 10 minutes. That response felt insensitive and overly rigid, especially given the circumstances. A little flexibility and empathy would help maintain customer trust and goodwill.
