Dog And Duck

The food here is a step up from ordinary pub fare, while still making for a hearty meal. I loved the artichoke and chestnut Pithivier, easily one of the best pies I've ever had. The confit duck, pate, gravalax and Thai curry were all amazing too. It's a beautiful pub with loads of character.

That affogato was a perfect finish after such a filling meal. I'm a coffee and ice cream lover, but had never tried one before. We came to The Duck for a birthday lunch shortly before Christmas, and the roast turkey was one of the best pub roasts I've had. The portion was huge, the meat incredibly tender, and everything cooked perfectly. It's our favourite place to eat in Suffolk, and we can't wait to come back.

The people of Campsea Ash are lucky to have The Duck. It's dog friendly, and the Sunday lunch is excellent. I had rare roast beef with a great choice of vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. There's also mixed meat roast and nut roast, plus traditional desserts like brioche bread and butter pudding, rice pudding and crumble. Good espresso too.

The staff were great, and it's a beautiful pub. I highly recommend the Sunday roast, by far the best I've had away from home.
