There were some lovely design touches in the king deluxe room, along with a big walk-in shower, double sinks, lots of complimentary extras and a comfortable memory foam bed. But for me, it felt like design had been put ahead of comfort. The pillows were extremely thin, so if you prefer a firm or thicker one, bring your own. The blankets were thin too, and the room got extremely cold. The aircon was meant to provide warmth, but it stayed cold. There's very little space to put your belongings, so things end up scattered around. And with lively pubs on either side, it was very noisy. Their check-in pamphlet says The Hugo is supposed to be “for sleep”, but I've never had a worse night's sleep, even with the complimentary ear plugs. At £120 a night, it was very expensive for what it is. I wouldn't stay again.

We had a very comfortable mattress, and the bathroom was new and spacious. The place was modern and clean, and the location on the main street couldn't have been better. Best place we've stayed!

There are lots of places to eat right outside, and both the train and bus stations are close by. The room was cosy and generally clean, with easy self-service access. It's on the pedestrian street between two pubs. Ben was attentive, and communication went smoothly.

It was a perfect spot for getting around Canterbury, and we had excellent communication and organisation. The room was beautiful, and staying there really felt like a holiday, a chance to switch off and relax.

For my graduation, I stayed in room 2. It was quiet even on the high street, and the bed was super comfy. The little room was cosy, lovely and nicely decorated, with a thoughtfully planned design. Everything was clean, and the shower and bathroom were great, with toiletries supplied. I enjoyed using the coffee machine in the morning, and it was handy to have a hairdryer. A bit more space for bags could be useful, but for a short stay it wasn't an issue at all.
