Lisa was so attentive and went the extra mile to make my stay special. The room had everything I could want, and the bed and linen were incredibly comfortable. Canterbury Lodge is a real little gem, spotlessly clean and with great facilities. The Full English Breakfast was superb, made with quality ingredients. I wish I lived closer, as it’s a lovely place to relax and enjoy. Thank you.

Lisa is a wonderful person to meet, and the breakfast was fantastic. The hotel’s location is ideal, and it has an EV charger, though you should tell them ahead if you plan to use it. The room service setup isn’t convenient. Nobody really comes in to clean the room or tie up the bins until after you check out. You have to tell reception a day ahead if you want an iron or extra pillows. Reception is almost always empty, with no service at all after 7pm. It’s a cosy stay with friendly staff, best suited to a couple of days.

The shower barely had any water pressure, so I took a star off. Apart from that, this was such a comfortable, clean stay, and the welcome was lovely. I got a super cheap offer through Booking.com. The room was cosy, breakfast was much better than I expected, with eggs, hash browns, mushrooms, spinach, grilled tomatoes and even vegetarian sausage. Free parking was a real bonus, and the place was quiet while still close to Canterbury’s attractions. A hidden gem.

We were close enough to walk into town and had lots of places to eat nearby. Canterbury Cathedral and the city walls were good to see, though the castle was shut for health and safety reasons. At the lodge, Lisa gave us a warm welcome, and our roomy bedroom had a very comfortable four-poster bed and plenty of tea and coffee. The shower room had two sinks. Breakfast was enormous, enough to feed an army, so I asked for a smaller serving on our second morning. I’d definitely come back to Canterbury Lodge.

We stayed from Friday to Sunday in a lovely first-floor bedroom at the back, with a four-poster bed. Breakfast was nice, and the hostess was friendly and helpful. Yes, we’d stay here again.
