The views all around were breathtaking, and the mountain view from our room was out of this world. It was quiet and peaceful too, with birds and wind in the trees the only sounds when we woke up. Staff were extremely helpful. Nathan sorted our room and added extra bits for us through a few rounds of messages, and checking in and out was simple. Breakfast and dinner were exceptional. Sam made both of our breakfast mornings a laugh and a great start to the day. Best breakfast in Wales! I’ll practise my bread tossing before our next stay, because we’ll definitely be back. It was my best hotel experience yet. Thanks to the whole team!

The food couldn’t be faulted. We stopped in on the way back from hiking Snowdon at the weekend, and this was a great little find. The Guinness was superb, and the special burger, handmade with Welsh rarebit cheese, was fantastic. My only downside was that pets were allowed in the food and drinking areas. There were dogs everywhere, and while eating I kept thinking I hoped I wouldn’t find a hair. Luckily I didn’t.

A great base for a hiking holiday, with a pub style bar serving a good range of local ales. The food is excellent and good value, and the hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. I’d booked a Mountain view twin room but was first given a double without a view. Staff quickly swapped me to a twin. I wasn’t too bothered about the view anyway, since I was out on the hills for most of the daylight hours.

I haven’t stayed at the hotel, but I’m a repeat customer at the Tyn-y-Coed bar and restaurant and always make a point of going when I’m in the area. On my latest visit last Sunday evening, the food was incredibly good again, the beer was excellent and the service warm. The steaks really stand out, among the best I’ve had in my life. I believe they’re sourced locally from a farm in Llanwrst, and you can really taste the quality and the chef’s skill. I highly recommend it and hope it keeps getting the custom it deserves.

The roast potatoes had a proper crunch, and the mash was smooth and creamy. We first came by as a family last year on a Sunday, and the brisket was tender and juicy, with seasonal vegetables that still had colour and bite. Everything seemed carefully prepared and served. I’ve been back 3 or 4 times since, and it keeps hitting the spot. There’s also a nice view of Siabod through the front windows, plus some great Tryfan artwork on the walls. Double thumbs up.
